Froghall Tunnel

NB Sundragon in Froghall Tunnel - Easter 2009
NB Sundragon in Froghall Tunnel - Easter 2009
The re-opening of Froghall Basin in 2005 brought a new and sometimes challenging destination to the canals network. The "challenge" is Froghall Tunnel. Only 76 yards long but with very limited headroom. To add to the challenge, there is no winding hole for full length boats on the two mile pound before the tunnel.

BW helped by putting a gauge at the start of the pound but word soon spread that it was a bit pessimistic so many intrepid boaters have given it a go if they look close to fitting the profile.

The following list shows some of those who have done it and those who tried but failed. In some cases you can click on the name of the boat more details and photos. More reports will be added as we receive them.
