The Waterways Festival - Friday

Burton-upon-Trent, in east Staffordshire, is to host the 2011 Waterways Festival over the weekend of 29th-31st July on Shobnall Fields. The Trust will have displays in the Staffordshire Waterways Tent, along with IWA Stoke-on-Trent, Burslem Port Project, Staffs & Worcester Canal Society, Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Trust and others.

The Trent and Mersey Canal, which runs through Burton-upon-Trent, offers many of the visiting crafts a wide choice of cruising routes. This new date is a change from the normal practice in recent years of holding it over the August Bank Holiday, and has come after significant consultation with exhibitors, attending public and IWA volunteers who are all vital to the staging of the event.
