"Caldon & Uttoxeter Canals Initiatives - Invitation to Trust members and all interested supporters"
The Caldon & Uttoxeter Canals Trust's Annual General Meeting will take place this coming Thursday, 25th March 2010 at Stoke on Trent Boat Club. The clubhouse will be open from 7.30 pm for the meeting to commence promptly at 8.00 pm.
The business of the AGM will be followed by refreshments and "Bringing the Uttoxeter Canal back to life - The Next Steps", the Trust's NEW illustrated presentation about the Uttoxeter Canal, exploring its route and history, the potential for restoration and regeneration and the findings of the "Uttoxeter Canal Restoration Outline Feasibility Study" - and looking at the next steps to be taken toward bringing the canal and its rich heritage to life.
There will also be updates about work party plans - for improvement initiatives on the Caldon Canal as well as the Uttoxeter Canal Restoration Project.
At this exciting time the Trust's need for volunteers has never greater. There is much 'behind the scenes' work to be done: research, liaising, letter-writing, collating information and arranging - as well as physical work 'on the ground'.
