Trust

Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Caldon and Uttoxeter Canals Trust. On these pages you will find information about these waterways and about the work of the Trust. We hope that you enjoy looking around the site and will be encouraged to support the work of the Trust by joining us in restoring and preserving these beautiful waterways.

The images above are a random selection showing the Caldon and Uttoxter Canals at various times over the lifetime of the Trust and will change each time you revisit this page.

The Trust hosts a regular monthly mid-week working party, to take place on the third Thursday of each month, starting on Thursday 16th February. We also support work parties organised by other organisations such as British Waterways and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust alongside the Canals. Details of all upcoming work parties can be found here. These are open to all members of the public, not just Trust members and a wide range of activities may be undertaken. We cover the whole length of the Caldon Canal from Etruria to Froghall and Leek, as well as the Uttoxeter Canal.

The Trust always welcomes new members who share our passion for the amazing Caldon and Uttoxeter waterways. Find out more about membership here.

We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who can assist us in various projects. We have tasks to suit everyone from work parties along the line of the canal to research work, planning and other tasks. You can make a very useful contribution by giving as little as an hour or two each month from home. Please contact us if you are able to help in any way.
